You are always with me in thought! Do they have crock pots there? That might help with your bbq pork butt. Do the have any local classes for learning Portuguese? That would be a cool group to be in. I’m going to learn Portuguese. I should, being almost 100% Portuguese. I’m trying duolingo. I know the dialect may not be right but hopefully someday I’ll learn enough to speak and understand. Take care!
You are the sweetest, my friend! There are plenty of local classes, but if we are not going to be here long term, I don't see myself using my time learning this incredibly difficult language. Duolingo is always on my phone, too. LOL. xooxoxo
I empathise with your situation, a lot. I applaud you for speaking candidly about your thoughts and feelings and the tension and challenges and pros and cons of it all, and what must be the ultimate mental dogfight of whether or not you should go back to the USA (and if you did, then where, and do what!?), if prospects here don't work out.
I'm not assuming you are, but if you are, forget about "how it looks", there is no shame or harm or embarrassment in trying something new, and deciding it wasn't right for you both at this time, or that the planets didn't remain aligned enough to make it sustainable to remain here. The Scientific Method is all about having ideas about how things might be, and conducting an experiemnt to work out if you're right, or not, and if you're not, then move on to some other 'experiment'. One Trick Ponies are boring, and you and Eric are the opposite. Hugz to you both. Let's catch up in November when we're both back from travels. xoxoxo
LOL on the BBQ, definitely something taken for granted, but (and don't hate me) it's not at the top of my foodie list :p. I do love so much that you can travel while you're there and TBH there are plenty of places where language isn't as much of a barrier. The healthcare piece is huge, especially given the shitshow that our healthcare system is here. Love you guys and that fried chicken Eric made looks amazing! Sending big hugs for a positive and uplifting week and love you more than you love BBQ LOL.
Awwwww. Love you more than BBQ for sure. And honestly, I love it, but I would never have said it's at the top of my foodie list either. Until I couldn't have it. LOL. Come over and we'll make fried chicken! xoxoxoxo
Life is so short dearest!! You guys need to live it. Never dwell about what it looks like on the outside. Live your life guilt free, you only get one go. We're doing the same, and won't apologize for it. Too many friends and family have passed away in the last few years without realizing dreams and goals.
You both are so brave to take on whatever comes in your pathways, and I definitely applaud the resilience it takes to keep on keeping on! Especially in unknown countries. It's terrifying and spectacular all at the same time. Breathe it in. xoxo

Dearest Anthony,
Thank you, Darling! And no, I used to worry so much about appearances, but not so much anymore. It has been a grand adventure so far.
Can't wait to catch up with you and Jonathan over dinner in November.
Big smooches,
P.
